If you have ever planned a party you know what I mean, there is more to hosting a party than just calling a few friends and relatives and inviting them over for wine, crackers, and candle sniffing. You are the host and it is your job to sell and recruit. If you really want to be one of the few Scentsy success stories than you need to learn how to recruit. Once you had your first couple parties and recruited your family and friends it is time to recruit strangers, you know the woman behind the counter at Starbucks, the waitress where you eat lunch, your old high school classmates from Facebook, until they “unlike” or “befriend” you, anyways you know what I mean. Direct sale is not for everybody so before you get enticed with all that loot you think your going to earn, think if you can do it without risking any of your friendships.

Now you are expecting that BIG payday and here it is:
so 20-29% is a little less than you expected but you think what the heck! I am still making a profit and after all that’s what being a successful entrepreneur is all about. Now after working hard for 9-12 months building your team another better opportunity comes along with a much better pay structure and you think I will head over to check it out and still collect my royalties from all the Scentsy superstars I trained, right?
This is where you wish you had paid closer attention to the contract you signed because this contract states at the time of this article that in order to receive royalties as a Star or SuperStar Director, you may not work as a consultant or in a similar capacity with any other direct selling company. If you reach the rank of a Star Director, your relationship with the company MUST BE EXCLUSIVE in order to receive royalties.
Honestly, I feel that these are old school MLM tactics that don’t work in today’s business world. There are too many companies to choose from out there that if you are a true entrepreneur you do not want to tie yourself to such exclusivity. I myself do online marketing because of the vast multiple incomes streams available, not to tie myself to just one. Not to mention competing with over 140,000 independent sales consultants selling the same products that you can purchase at Amazon.

As a final note for this Scentsy review I must say that personally I am not a fan of the Scentsy compensation plan as I feel it is way too low in order to be very successful being exclusive. I haven’t seen a published Scentsy success rate chart but I cannot imagine that there are too many people bringing in that six figure income. Ultimately the choice is yours, it is always yours and don’t you forget it, so choose wisely.
